There is a good article in the Courier Mail. We’re grateful for the coverage!
The State Government and Brisbane City Council are facing growing criticism of their handling of anti-congestion plans for the city … A rally yesterday, sparked by news of a government study to use part of the corridor for a Kenmore bypass, drew a large crowd to a local park.

Ministerial Media Statement
FYI Mr Pitt released a statement dated 18.05.08 re: health concerns over the Kenmore Bypass saying it will be referred to experts (how comforting!) He also says these concerns have not been raised before in relation to Moggill Road and its volume of traffic. I get the feeling he couldn’t care less about our health. The statement can be found at http://www.cabinet.qld.gov.au/MMS

I have just read Westside News. Sorry Dr Flegg but you have lost the plot well and truly. I have kept all the information materials I have been given about the Kenmore Bypass. I cannot not find any reference whatsoever to the No Kenmore Bypass action group suggesting that widening Moggill Road is an alternative to the Kenmore Bypass. That is your scaremongering Dr Flegg - why are you doing this? Aren’t you supposed to be our elected representive?
The No Kenmore Bypass group has suggested other alternatives but no mention by them of widening Moggill Road. It seems they are actually trying to save costs and homes not destroy them. I am also very surprised that intelligent reporters whose job it is to sort the fact from the fiction could so blatantly report your story in a way that strongly infers there are oONLY TWO alternatives - one being the Kenmore Bypass and the other being widening Moggill Road. Could someone please send the Westside News one of the information brochures the group has put in mail boxes because those brochures clearly outline sensible, achievable and much less expensive alternatives to the Kenmore Bypass….and while you are at it, please mail a copy to Dr Flegg who must have lost his copies or he surely wouldn’t continue to make the same silly mistakes, now would he?
