Posting this on behalf of Penny: There was a presentation to the Minister for Main Roads today. Here is a summary and a link to the presentation.
Our meeting today with the Minister for Main Roads was positive. He said he has not made a final decision, is going to the next step of community consultation and would be happy to meet with us again as the process continues. We must mobilise quickly, get organised and assert our views in order to achieve our aim of no Moggill Pocket Sub Arterial - stage 1 (the Kenmore Bypass) nor stage 2 (connection to Warrego Highway passing Kholo Quarry).
You can see the PowerPoint presentation that was presented to the minister here.

Currently Australia joins the world in trying to address the issues of Global warming…how the destruction of the green belt of beautiful land now the subject of the proposed bypass, can be seen to “fit” into the issues we face as Australians, escapes me.
Why did we bother to sign the Kyoto agreement if we are not prepared to live it? This proposed road is a ‘road to nowhere’. It will see the destruction of acres of natural forestation and the loss of the wildlife who currently live and feed from it. Shame on the DMR. What was seen as an okay solution 30 years ago, is not okay in this changing world.
