Thanks to the Brisbane Times for mentioning the Kenmore Bypass in its article about the state Greens campaign launch:
The Greens will replace the $1 billion Kenmore Bypass proposal with a light rail concept connecting to the main Ipswich line as part of a network for greater Brisbane.

Check out this article in the Westside News about the trauma caused to recipients of Main Roads letters, sent last Tuesday to 250 Kenmore property owners, warning of potential resumptions. There is a good article in the Courier Mail. We’re grateful for the coverage!
The State Government and Brisbane City Council are facing growing criticism of their handling of anti-congestion plans for the city … A rally yesterday, sparked by news of a government study to use part of the corridor for a Kenmore bypass, drew a large crowd to a local park.

Before the day is over, and to welcome all of you who might have just signed up for email updates today, let me say a quick and simple thank you to everyone who came to the Protest in the Park today. The crowd was estimated to be around 1000 people, all engaged and eager to find out more. With these numbers and this passion, we will prevail! Many thanks go out to the organisers and speakers. Stay tuned for a more thorough report, including pictures, once we all recover a bit. Also, please be sure to see our post asking for volunteers and give what help you can, so we can keep up this great momentum you all have given us today. Thanks again!
I was pleased to see so many letters to the editor this week published on page 8 of the Westside News.
Thanks go out to Tony Young, Peter Davis, Alan Gosling, Victoria Carrington and Geoff Munck for making their opposition to the Kenmore Bypass known to local media.
We encourage you to email Westside News with your thoughts and opinions on the Kenmore Bypass.
Thanks Grant for this breaking news: We are delighted that the Sunday Mail has picked up our important issue regarding the Kenmore Bypass (page 12). It is important that we specifically write to the Sunday Mail (yournews@thesundaymail.com.au), Westside News (editorial@westsidenews.com.au), Local Bulletin (info@thelocalbulletin.com) and go online to the Courier Mail at http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/editorial/letter/ to reinforce our concerns.
Please see our action page for points you can make, but here are the highlights: (continued »)
The Westside News has an article in today’s paper (delivered Wednesday morning) about the Bypass. It is on page 11, titled “New group objects to bypass proposal”. That’s us! It’s a very welcome article and we thank Westside News for the coverage.
The article invites us to write about our views to editorial@westsidenews.com.au and we urge you to do so as soon as possible. If we show our involvement, we reward the Westside News for covering an issue dear to our hearts, and encourage them to do more articles with even more prominence.
If you want ideas for what points to mention in your letter, take a look at our action page and put it in your own words. The sooner the better!
The Brisbane Times published an article on the “Kenmore Bypass” (the Moggill Pocket Sub Arterial Stage One) which should fire you up. As we describe on our action page, this Stage One is the thin edge of the wedge, after which the entire devastating arterial can be more easily built. This does not mention the better, faster, less expensive alternatives presented to the Minister by our group.
