Of course, many people live to the West and have been influenced by our opponents into regarding the Bypass as the only solution to their horrid Moggill commute. In sheer numbers, they probably outnumber those of us who know the depth of the negative impact the Bypass will have. So though winning the poll would be nice, we don’t expect that to happen. We do want to show that there is a large, substantial opposition, and because the negative impacts (hundred of millions of dollars, loss of mature green space and wildlife, noise, pollution, a new Ipswich Motorway) are much larger than the positive benefits (a few minutes of less travel time getting you to a new, larger bottleneck a bit faster), even a substantial minority opposition should win the day. So go make yourselves heard, everyone!
