Thanks Grant for this breaking news: We are delighted that the Sunday Mail has picked up our important issue regarding the Kenmore Bypass (page 12). It is important that we specifically write to the Sunday Mail (yournews@thesundaymail.com.au), Westside News (editorial@westsidenews.com.au), Local Bulletin (info@thelocalbulletin.com) and go online to the Courier Mail at http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/editorial/letter/ to reinforce our concerns.
Please see our action page for points you can make, but here are the highlights:
1. The Kenmore Bypass is part of the Ipswich Motorway alternative route that will connect Centenary to Warrego Highways via FTP, Kenmore, Pinjara Hills, Pullenvale, Anstead, Bellbowrie, Moggill, Karalee and North Tivoli.
2. Will further congest the Centenary Highway and does not resolve traffic congestion or safety through Kenmore due to the failure to address the OLR and Kenmore Roundabout issues.
3. There are better alternatives that are faster, cheaper, and more effective - fixing the Kenmore Roundabout, improving Moggill Road, providing alternative / safe access to OLR, and a bridge in the Bellbowrie area to provide access to rail and 3 motorways.
Our biggest problem remains awareness around this issue. Giving a short input on one of these concerns in your own words will help in informing the broader community.
