Public feedback affecting the Kenmore Bypass decision will be closed at end of business on Monday, 16 June 2008 so we must make a last big push immediately. This feedback does matter and gets counted up yea or nay in an objective manner, so we need everyone to put in their bit. If you have not written to Main Roads, please, please do so today. Read on for how to do it.
Our reply to this call for feedback is very important! It was due to a similar survey coming out 51% in favour of the Bypass that helped decide Main Roads to go to this next dangerous stage. Let’s not let that happen again– let’s get a majority on our side this time. Please write or call Main Roads and urge everyone else to do the same.

Again, Monday 16 June is the last day they are taking feedback, and this feedback does matter, so we need everyone to put in their bit. If even a small percentage of the people to the west who are fooled into thinking the Bypass is the best solution write in, that can overwhelm the input from those who will directly feel the loss of our green space and peace, unless all of us write in to counterbalance it.
A summary of the main argument is the following. Put it into your own words!
“I would like to register my strong opposition to building the Kenmore Bypass. I highly value the green space that the road would destroy, and I and my family use these spaces often. A huge number of native wildlife will be destroyed. The values of all the properties that look at, listen to, and are in walking distance to the destroyed green spaces will drop greatly. The leafy, natural character of the suburbs will be reduced. Furthermore, I don’t think this will make the commute any shorter– the congestion will simply move somewhere else. There are many alternatives that will be cheaper, faster, far less disruptive, and more effective, and these must be investigated thoroughly. The site http://www.saveourkenmore.com has many good ideas in their presentation, and shows the strength of the community opposition. Lastly, I urge us Australians to face the realities of the 21st century. Cars emit CO2 and new roads remove plant life we desperately need. It is madness to keep cutting new roads through fertile green spaces to put an band-aid on a problem that needs a real solution presented by visionary leadership. Please accept my strong opposition to the Kenmore Bypass”.
The many, many people who have been so active deserve the highest thanks. If you have already written, thank you so much. If you have not, it’s not too late. And everyone, spread the word to neighbors, family, and friends, asking them to add their voices to yours.
One Comment to “Public feedback to Main Roads closing– write today!”

I note that the Government has appointed the Phillips Group to deal with the KB Feedback emails and no doubt advise them into the future, as noted from the reply email I received from ‘kenmorebypass@phillipsgroup.com.au’.
Previously we had received an email direct from Main Roads so I am not sure what is going on here, obviously they are splurging another few million $ on Spin Doctors to handle the fallout from the Public Feedback on the KB and to call on the ‘impartial’ consultant to put their view across. Sorry its the cynic in me.
Phillips Group’s website describes their services as, wait for it; “communication company specialising in finance and investor relations, change, risk, issues and crisis management, reputation management, …
To our sitting Local and State Members Margaret De Wit and Bruce Flegg you might find them handy, I’ll repeat it for you two again, their website is http://www.phillipsgroup.com.au You are going to need them at your next elections, you both have let your Constituents down very badly.
Lets all remind both of these people that they are Public Servants and their job is to represent everyone here, not just their own interest groups.
