CHUG

EFFECTS ON CENTENARY SUBURBS
Because the Western Bypass of Brisbane, West of Mt. Coottha, has been scrapped by the Bligh government the Centenary Highway is now a de facto Western Bypass.
This will take traffic from the Warrego, Ipswich, Cunningham and New England Highways.
Worse, the proposed, and so called, Kenmore Bypass will introduce a new major intersection onto the Centenary between the bridge and the current Fig tree Pocket intersection. This is to cater for traffic from all the new developing suburbs west of Kenmore.
The MRD estimate that 25000 cars per day will be using the so called bypass of Kenmore with Stage 1 of WBTNI amd 75000 cars per day with Stage 2.
